Send a takedown notice

Send a written notice to the agent above by email or post, or submit the form below. Under 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3), your notice must include:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right allegedly infringed.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or a representative list if multiple works at a single online site are covered.
  3. Identification of the material claimed to be infringing or the subject of infringing activity, to be removed or disabled, and information reasonably sufficient to locate it (include exact URLs).
  4. Information reasonably sufficient to contact you, such as your address, telephone number and, if available, email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement that the information is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right allegedly infringed.

Consider applicable exceptions, including fair use. Knowingly materially misrepresenting infringement may create liability under §512(f). We may request missing information and act expeditiously on valid notices. We notify the affected subscriber when material is removed or disabled.

Counter-notice procedure

If your material was removed by mistake or misidentification, send a written counter-notice to the designated agent. Under §512(g)(3), it must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of removed or disabled material and its location before removal or disabling.
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief removal or disabling resulted from mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address and telephone number; a statement consenting to jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district where your address is located, or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which the service provider may be found; and a statement that you will accept service of process from the original notifier or their agent.

We provide the original notifier a copy of a valid counter-notice and inform them of the potential replacement of the material. Unless our agent first receives notice that the notifier has filed an action seeking a court order restraining the subscriber's infringing activity, the statutory process provides for restoration not less than 10 and not more than 14 business days after receipt of the counter-notice. Separate rights-clearance or account restrictions may still apply. Counter-notice contact information will be shared with the notifier.

Repeat-infringer policy

Accounts with repeated valid copyright strikes are terminated in appropriate circumstances. An automated copyright match or an unreviewed allegation is not itself a valid strike. We review notices, counter-notices and corrections, and may revoke mistaken strikes. We may remove content or restrict accounts for other violations independently of this process.
